Emotional Balance

Your emotional state effects your hormonal balance. Stress causes your adrenal glands to produce excess cortisol, a steroid hormone. If you're using more cortisol than normal, your body will produce more progesterone than normal to make the cortisols. Long-term or chronic stress causes an undue demand for cortisol, which in turn can lead, to progesterone deficiency, adrenal exhaustion, and symptoms similar to chronic fatigue.

Now that the stage has been set, this hormonal imbalance can cause the brain to send irregular signals to the hormone producing glands further perpetuating the problem.
