Libido

Mainstream medical research has neglected the effects that progesterone can have on human libido. The common thought is that estrogen is the primary sex drive hormone in women. Most women who use progesterone would not agree with this scenario. In fact, the surge of progesterone at the time of ovulation is a known source of sex drive. Libido is quite often significantly reduced with the addition of synthetic estrogen and only returns when progesterone is used.

It is interesting to note that in a certain island culture where yams containing progesterone precursors are a major staple of the local diet, libido is very high throughout the entire month. (The people who live on this Island appear to be extremely happy!)
